Because of His crown, we can have ours.

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

When it rains...

...It not only pours but it hails, sleets, lightnings, thunders...you get the point, I'm sure. As most of you know, my dad lost his job nearly 8 months ago and still has yet to find a new one. In order for my parents to keep their house, my dad sold his car and they've cutback on anything and everything. We've all used each holiday as a finish line of sorts- saying surely he'd have a job by the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and so on.

We all know that God has a wonderful plan in store for my dad, but I know that his confidence is starting to dwindle. He puts so much into each interview- especially this last one. Recently he took the title of Vice President off his resume because many companies would tell him he was "over qualified for the position". It's hard to see him invest so much into each interview only to have the job given to someone internally or who is doing the same job for another company.

Tomorrow he has an interview with a local company and it is looking very promising. He interviewed with their head hunter last week and was told that there is only one other person interviewing. According to the head hunter, my dad has the upper hand with his experience and education. Please join us in prayer as we are so hopeful that this job will be his. He would be making almost the same salary that he was a few years ago, plus he would have a car allowance. What an answer to prayer this would be!

This job also could not come at a better time for my parents because of all they've had going on with their house and remaining car. Last week their heat went out and it was a hefty bill to fix it. Along with that, they need a new engine in my mom's 10 year old Montero. As I said before, we know that God has a plan with all of this, but it's a huge change of pace for my parents. My dad worked his whole life to earn his "dream house", "dream car", and "dream job". One lesson I know they've learned is that material possessions are nothing less than fleeting.

Please pray that if this is the job for my dad, the company will move quickly with it. If this is not the job that was meant for him, please pray that God will provide him with one soon. My parents would not have been able to get through this time if it were not for the love and prayers of our friends, family, and church. Thank you so much-I promise to keep you posted :)
